Prior to Nirogy Therapeutics, Dr. Escobedo was a senior management leader responsible for early drug discovery efforts and translational biology at FORMA Therapeutics and Novartis, respectively. He was responsible for drug discovery efforts, target selection, hit identification, hit-to-lead and lead optimization biology. He was a member of the FORMA Therapeutics Research Management and Novartis Oncology Research Teams whose roles were to manage the discovery and development of new cancer drugs as well as to provide strategic direction to oncology research. He has contributed to the advancement of 13 research projects to the clinic. He has over 35 years of scientific research and management experience, with 25 years of which in biopharmaceutical industry. By training, he is a molecular and cellular biologist with a strong background on signal transduction, cancer biology and molecular genetics.
Dr. Escobedo completed a post-doctoral fellowship at University of California, San Francisco and received a Ph.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Yeshiva University.
